Read the SAPA reserve survival guide.
Know when you have to answer your phone and when you don't.
DO NOT...
Answer your phone when you don't have to.
For that matter, never answer your phone. Let it roll to vm, then look online to see what they want before you call them back.
Agree to do something you don't have to do, unless it's to your benefit. Once you do agree, you can't take it back even if it's a policy violation or something you didn't have to do.
Acknowledge a trip online before you duty on for reserve availability. Doing so will allow them to push your duty on to the start time of the trip, making you legal to work much later. Same with answering your phone before duty on...If you answer at 0355, they can adjust your duty on to 2300 and have you fly a redeye even though you're acclimated for am reserve. If you wait until 0401 before talking to them then you keep your original 0400 duty on. I always wait at least five minutes after duty on...otherwise they might try to use a minute or two of wiggle room to pretend you didn't duty on yet.

I would second the, "If they call you outside of your RAP, there's always a reason". On the SAPA reserve forum there's instructions on how to view your schedule and bucket list with a pending notification. This can be helpful to have a picture of what they did if you choose to do battle.
Never do a favor without instantly getting something in return. There is no scorebook, and they will call you back and screw you over 2 minutes after helping them.

Never ever answer the phone. Let it go to VM. I think you have 10 minutes to either call back or acknowledge on sked+.

Never do them any favors, or 'help them out,' unless you get immediate benefit. They are never going to do you favors or help you out, and aren't going to remember that one time you did... they are gonna try really hard to make things sound really good, in that instance, it most likely isn't.

Pack food. You will probably find yourself at times being unable to get any. Even just some powerbars will be helpful.
Bring a book/load up the kindle. You'll be sitting around a lot at the airport, hotel, or on the multiple deadheads you'll do.
Find on SkyWestonline the information for all of the crew lounges at the different hubs/domiciles. (under flight ops-crew info)
If they list a hotel on a trip sheet and you are not going there with a regular crew, call and make sure they have booked you a room.
Remember every phone conversation with the company is recorded.

Man the joke is on all of you guys who are responding to CCB. He is baiting you, and doing it well! He doesn't seem to care others under him are trying to make it and is happy to cheer for the company to sink out of bitterness. If you all would just leave him alone and ignore his posts, he would stop posting.

Hey all, got the invitation to training and could use some advice.
Choice of CRJ or E175, both for 1/22 class. My main goal is to be SEA based in the shortest time possible, however long that takes me. E175s are slated for SEA this summer but would I be right in assuming that the CRJ would probably get me based here quicker?
In the meantime, any tips on commuting out of Seattle? I'e heard I'll probably get MSP at first, looks like there's 6 direct flights/day SEA - MSP so hopefully there's consistent room on those.
Thanks in advance, and Happy New Year!
