To which side of the storm are you referring?
70 resignations have been submitted this month. Over 70 upgrades were awarded. Movement will continue and accelerate. It will not be an issue for CCB because he is stuck for whatever reason, but if I had to venture a guess it's because of his "bedside manner". I find it ironic that he thinks he has it all figured out dropping his turds (can I use turd on APC?) of wisdom, but can't figure out why guys junior to him are getting hired by the majors.
For the most part the guys I fly with have been here for 20 years or more. They do their job and don't spew a bunch of anti-establishment rhetoric. They are what a Captain should be.
Sorry about using the "d-word". How about tool?

I will move right along just as soon as I am sure it is the right time and to the right place. Since my situation is pretty decent, it will have to be a top tier move, Spirit ain't gonna cut it for me. The majors have been hiring more than a few for what, a year? Like I said this is 4 D chess not checkers. SKYW F/Os are leaving daily for any number of quick/CQFO slots, when the rats flee the ship, you gotta ask, why? When I listen to the F/Os it becomes clear, they don't have any plans, it's jump at the first, different thing that comes along, and to operate in thes shark infested waters, rudderless is foolhardy. If my musings cause one guy to think about what he is gonna do with some planning, it's worth it. I don't really have a dog in this pit, it's the guys like WRX who need the next layer of airline fodder to allow them to upgrade. I have mine, have had it for awhile, and could afford to take an early retirement and live quite comfortably. Do the math....70 resignations, 70 upgrades, how many new hires????

CCB is a good stabilizing and rational counter to the rest of the "Roses and Rainbows" crowd. It's good to see both ends of the spectrum to come to your own conclusion, no?
Regarding resignations, they are nearly all FOs. The ones who see the writing on the wall, I would gather.

The company never furloughed because they had turboprops in the way and it would have created a nightmare in training logistics. Those turboprops will be gone soon and when the 200s start coming off contract and the EMB 175 flying continues to go elsewhere, the company will do what it needs to do. The grand plan is to shrink to profitability and become a smaller and leaner airline. How small is the question we all have to wait and see. If I was a new hire at the bottom and had a chance to get out, I'd be gone in a heartbeat.

If you are a pilot in the airline industry, too late, you are already playing. If you need basic coaching/rule explanation at this point, well, you better start figuring it out. I am sure WRX will give you some advice. Grabbing the tiger by the tail, kicking it in the junk and then asking "how do I not get mauled" is like "fire, ready, aim" on the firing line. After 25+ years in this business, it is patently obvious that each individual has variables that create a series of complex choices not easily scriptable in a generic sense.
