The 175 pairings still seem pretty solid I hope it stays that way.

The 14 200's all come off contract this year. I heard the first plane is this April, with the last one in September.
Not sure anybody knows when or if the contract will be extended.

During my interview the recruiter said they were getting all the 200s they could as others park them!

I talked to a PSA guy today and he said it is rumored that SkyWest wants their (newish) 200s as they get the 700/900s. Maybe replacements for the older 200s.

Default Modern Slavery

The problem is that we complain and complain and complain but do nothing about the situation and yet we expect things to miraculously change, that's the definition of Insanity my friends. It's modern day slavery they are trying to make things as difficult as possible so that you either quit or go insane. This profession has been destroyed at the regional level. There is no adequate compensation which is ok as long as there is quality of life (multiple days off, commutable lines, productive trips). Now we gave in to more concessions and our quality of life is been taken away. Yet there's plenty of mediocre 2nd and 3rd class pilots getting hire by the regionals cause this companies need to fill the seats. Here's the F*&K part about this, the FAA implemented all this changes (1500hrs, 117 rules) all to help place experience and well rested pilots in the cockpit. I wonder what they'll do when a plane slam into the ground cause by pilot error. Always have a backup plan.

Well, they actually are snapping up 200's but there's no way to know how long that party will last. Maybe they're replacing airframes which need a d-check with airframes which have been in the desert for a while and haven't quite gotten to the d-check? A CRJ which is near d-check can be had for cheap...one which is at d-check, you'd probably have to pay someone to haul it away.

I do wonder what'll happen when all of the CRJ 200s finally are pooped out. These planes do fly every day, and ain't gettin any younger. What are regionals like Skywest just going to fly 70 plus seaters everywhere, and say bye bye to the small communities that they were made on?

they will keep pulling old ones from the desert and putting new engines on them for probably the next 10 years. The entire airline industry &possibly the US economy could and likely will go through another whole boom/bust cycle by that time
