Been keeping spreadsheets since hired almost a year ago, and IF everything keeps marching along, the upgrad will drop to 2.7 years for early 2014 hires.
The cool thing is IF the economy takes another $#!T, SKW hasn't ever furloughed in it's 42 year history and is probably the best place to be in a recession IMHO.

You are a dream crusher man! You have any New Year's resolutions? How about don't be a douche on Fridays? All other days are good douche days, but not Friday man! Happy New Year!

If the truth is disappointing, so be it. You guys are playing Forrest Gump grade checkers in a 4 D chess game. It's kinda sad, you think you grabbed the winning ticket, only to find out it was a Parking Citation. Once SKYW figures out that they can't staff all the planes they will start getting rid of the small ones(EMB), and then the most MX unprofitable ones next(200s). Ask around, SKYW has a couple of plans floating around, and one is about shrinking. But hey I hear PSA has the fast upgrade and flow, and probably will until you decide that the 10 year upgrade is taking too long, then after you jump over they will move that carrot over to the next carrier, and on and on and on. Your upgrade will possibly never happen. Just when you think you have the industry figured out, they will change the rules, just like they have for the last 30 years.....

Clearly CCB is a very unhappy, miserable lifer that has some type of skeleton in the closet preventing him from moving on. The fact that he only finds pleasure in trashing his co-workers is very telling of why he's stuck.
I feel sorry for the guy, as I have seen firsthand how destructive such a personality can be on one's life. But when it comes down to it, it's not our problem and he's best left on the ignore list (and perhaps the no bid list if you're a SFO CRJ FO).

If SKW cannot replace the 200's which come off contract between 2015-2020 there will be backwards movement. If you're lucky and there's a lot of attrition it might merely be stagnation.

I suggest you take charge of your dreams and make them happen. If you're a new-hire a SKW I'd look into CZ if you want to live in the west.
The best-case scenario for SKW new-hires has nothing to do with upgrade...your best hope is that the majors will start hiring RJ FO's on a wholesale basis.
Also, don't use the d-word again on APC (official warning).

The best revenge is to live well. There is and will continue to be a lot of opportunity for most of us to move on to bigger and better things.

I am very happy, fairly well adjusted and successful in all my endeavors, at and outside work. I am the original anti-lifer, when I hear the insane tripe you and your delusional cohorts spew, it isn't fair to the new guys coming into this job. You think because you have spent 4 whole years at SKYW you are an expert at life and aviation in general. What is destructive is listening to a 3rd year F/O describe living in a wrong side of the tracks apartment, or in a hangar, or on the beach in a tent, because they can't afford any thing else. Or the guy who read the types of forums and believed your hot crack pipe rantings and then signed on the dotted line for 100K+ in student loan debt. I listen to these stories far more often than I care to. I own my house outright, no car loans, and 0.00 credit card debt. The number of guys I have flown with who admit to more than 100K in student loans makes me nervous. So you continue to rationalize how ever you want, you are not doing any one any favors, yourself included.

His bed-side manner isn't the greatest, but haven't heard him say anything which isn't true. SKW has some serious hurdles in the near-term. Long-term they've always done OK but who knows what they'll look like when they come out the other side of the storm.
I suggest you take charge of your dreams and make them happen. If you're a new-hire a SKW I'd look into CZ if you want to live in the west.

70 resignations have been submitted this month. Over 70 upgrades were awarded. Movement will continue and accelerate. It will not be an issue for CCB because he is stuck for whatever reason, but if I had to venture a guess it's because of his "bedside manner". I find it ironic that he thinks he has it all figured out dropping his turds (can I use turd on APC?) of wisdom, but can't figure out why guys junior to him are getting hired by the majors.
For the most part the guys I fly with have been here for 20 years or more. They do their job and don't spew a bunch of anti-establishment rhetoric. They are what a Captain should be.
Sorry about using the "d-word". How about tool?

To which side of the storm are you referring?

CCB is a good stabilizing and rational counter to the rest of the "Roses and Rainbows" crowd. It's good to see both ends of the spectrum to come to your own conclusion, no?
Regarding resignations, they are nearly all FOs. The ones who see the writing on the wall, I would gather.
