Enjoy your 1%. I'm ready to bail once I hit my upgrade hours if something doesn't change. Yeah, I'll be junior. But for a difference of $20-30k? Worth it, that's a substantial raise at this pay rate. And for those who aren't in SkyEast, 80% of the pilots I fly with complain about the schedules, days off, pay, etc. While maintaining professionalism, of course. But most are realistic about our current position in the industry. I haven't had any who are debby downers about it, but everyone has a comment to make. Even some of the big names have made comments when I've talked with them on the ground or flown with them...I'd hope that's a sign that things might change. |

A few years ago I would have said I was a lifer, I just paid to have my resume professionally done. I'm also on the list of people actively trying to get out. Morale around ORD lately is pretty bad. |

On the plus side, you can pick up open time days at the end of your month that inevitably get dropped off because you run out of block due to ground delays ;) |
The e-mails begging us to work low-paying OT stand-ups on what little, precious days off that have been awarded to us are comical....

Haha nope. Just another person who for a while considered being a lifer here. Now I’m running for the door.

It seems to be the norm at regional airlines to shake up the upper portion of the seniority list and try to motivate people towards the door. It’s been said time and time again that regionals were meant for time building. Then you’re supposed to move on. I believe this will become more evident as companies raise incentives for pilot recruitment.

Interesting to push people out the door when the industry is experiencing the beginning of a pilot shortage.
