Skywest v2.0
Rumor, there will be no significant changes until people stop showing for new hire class. Also said several hundred Aussies lined up in the pipeline, hard to believe but might have some validity.

We will never get any where close to Endeavor or Republic.
Because management would have to come up with the money, which they would hate to do because it shows the necessity of pilots. But mostly because it would signal they made a mistake in their judgement and that scares them more than anything.

I also think we're still bringing in a decent new hire size because of the new ATL base. The only other option for ATL is Endeavor and they've even stopped interviewing, much less having class dates 6+ months in advance.

I’m starting to think that we have a really safety issue on our hands with English being a second language and accents impeding communication with so many new hires.
I rarely have a guy in the left seat I can’t understand but on the radio I’ve noticed things are getting muddied.

They could have thousands, but it really doesn't matter. The visa and steps Aussies have to go through to get over here takes years. Even if they had some ready to come now, only a handful make it into each new hire class. There were 3 in my class - 1 washed out - and was then heading to PHX to try to get an interview at Mesaba before she had to leave the country.

Given that Australia has a population smaller than the State of Texas, 3 Aussies in a class from half way around the world sounds like a lot of pilots for a new hire class.
And, I am also pretty sure your washed out classmate got the job at Mesa.

The Aussies can be here and in class just as fast as anyone in the states. It takes no time to get the visa. I know some that had the interview and were in class a week later.
Mesaba has been gone since about 2008 so how exactly was this person going to get an interview without a time machine?

Does calling an EMER allow you to not use user time if you want to forfeit the credit?
