Don't get them on the 175. That's a whole additional problem.

A disturbing reason being that the jumpseat shouldn't include money changing hands.

Personally on my typical originating and terminating location, United is best for me personally.

175 pilots don't have DL benefits as of right now. For example, if a SkyWest 175 pilot and a Mesa pilot or whomever that doesn't have DL benefits show up to Jumpseat on a DL flight, their priority would be the same, but only the SkyWest pilot would be forced to pay the 50 dollar fee to be able to JS.
This doesn't seem very fair.
Let's say the roles were reversed and there was something in the system that charged DL pilots 50 dollars to ride the jump on UAX OO flights, but not AA/SWA/JB etc. I can't imagine DL pilots being too happy about that and I'd imagine the issue would be resolved fairly quickly.

The only way this is going to get fixed is for our guys to start politely refusing the JS to Delta guys. It's a shame, and I'm not necessarily advocating for it, just simply stating that it's the only way things will change. It's a real shame that our representation, hell even our management couldn't care less.

You obviously don't get it, as many others here don't either, but the reason we are charged is SGU, specifically the head of People.

Ask any other regional pilots what they do when they try to jump on Daddy Delta. They give them their specific airline code, and their employee number. But here at OO, we give our PPR number. This isn't a Delta issue, it is SGU wanting to keep some priority on Delta Connection aircraft, i.e. management out of SGU and SLC. Blame them for this money game.

For those looking to come here, don't. You'll be junior for quite sometime, and there are several other carriers you'll upgrade quicker at (which in turn mean you'll make more money). You will also not have to deal with these minor BS items we go through at SkyWest. Taken individually they're not so bad, but pile enough BS on top of more BS, and it becomes an issue.

Don't believe the recruiters on upgrade times, and don't come here expecting to hold a line on the 175 anytime soon.

There lies the problem... People keep coming here for the shiny 175. Until the new hires realize SkyWest doesn't currently have the best contract, work rules, or honor seniority as it should and stop coming to class, none of this will ever change. Problem is we have so many desirable bases and 175s coming on property, that most people ignore the substandard contract, work rules, and the complete ignorance of seniority hoping they won't have to commute. But hey, if you want to sit reserve and never fly all summer come on board and help management kick the can further down the road.

Not so sure this is very good advice. Upgrades are dropping, 175 fleet is doubling.

I looked but can't tell from seniority number, is the latest EMB upgrade time still roughly parallel to the CRJ? Or is it going more senior?

Way more senior

Nobody has upgraded onto he 175 since end of summer 2015, all that's happening now is transitions from CRJ left seat to 175 left seat.
