New ERJ hire here, I was recently assigned a SEA domicile. I live in FL and am planning to move to either DEN or SEA. DEN was my first choice and would like to live there, however, I hear commuting brings down qol. Just looking for some advice, should i move to DEN and hope that I get a transfer within the next six months or just make the move to SEA? Thanks

If you really want Denver, you'll get it within a few months. Commute for a couple months. The pain will be short lived.

No. Why would they? The only reason why AA increased the bonuses at their wholly-owned regionals is because they were/are burning dumpster fires in terms of staffing. AA was acting out of pure desperation. (I wonder why......????)

SkyWest is having absolutely no problems filling classes. Not only are they covering for attrition, they're adding an additional 20-30 new pilots to the seniority list every month.

As long as they are filling classes, and can get people through the door, there is zero reason why SkyWest would increase bonuses.

Actually shortly before the new pay rates and bonus announcement here at PSA I was surprised to learn that we are actually growing on the FO side up from the end of last year. And to my knowledge both us and Envoy have been getting a lot of applicants before the announcement.

And just to correct an earlier post, the new rates with new hire bonus bring first year pay to around $60,000 and $40 /hour years 2 and 3 with an additional $20,000 in retention bonuses paid out quarterly over those 2 years. Not too shabby. Time for you fellas and Endeavor to raise the bar again!

Have any other new hires had their SWOL details mixed up with other people? Is there someone here with initials MAT? Please PM. Cheers

Yes, but how are the trips, QOL, schedules? There's more to life than pay rates. You can pay me a ridiculous hourly rate, but if I have to fly a 9-hour 4 day it doesn't really matter.

Trips are great if you can pick your schedule with the SAP. I usually get 2 or 3 overnights at home every month and my 4 days credit anywhere from 17 to 24 hours typically. I've got a 5 day next month worth about 32 hours, then a 4 day and a 3 day worth another 35 hours. I work 12 days next month and I'm off the rest and I still managed 2 overnights at home. Some of the trips awarded to you on reserve suck but that's almost anywhere on reserve.

Anyway, I hope you guys see more money and contract improvements soon. It just fuels the fire for everyone else... A rising tide and all that.

They aren't throwing money at you because you do a good job lol secondly, a bonus of any sort won't deter anyone from going to mainline , so st best it deters you from lateral moves from a forever reserve at envoy , crappy trips , work rules, treatment at psa to a LCC or a better regional

We won't see any bonuses here for the pilot group anytime soon, maybe a pay bump so we can be industry leading ;) . Company is hiring 80-100 a month, ppl come here because it's good pay, very stable, decent upgrade, 15 bases, new flying, growing etc etc and no I'm not a koolaid drinker :P
