no real insight. But if we make a financial provision we don't have any expectation to extend any 200 flying past the contractual dates on the books right now. That doesn't mean they will go away for sure but the more likely scenario is that they will go rather than getting extended.

How many 200s does Expressjet currently operate?
That looks like a huge hit to their total fleet with all the 200s going away over the next year?

At first glance it looks like that announcement only applies to the ASA/ExpressJet side on INC.
Edit
Nope..ExpressJet only has 46 CRJ200s
I think SkyWest is parking 14 of the CRJ200s for United next month.

Another 161 sit with SKYW. Given the amount they are setting aside it looks to me that they are planning a contingency for the entire 200 fleet.

Our upgrade time is under two years and unless you have 121 time from somewhere else you won't have the 1000 hours required to upgrade until around our upgrade time anyway (3 months training, average 80block you're already at almost a year and a half and that's holding a good line out the gate).
Actually hourly wise we're near the top, factor in 100% deadhead pay, 100% cancellation pay, 2 bonuses first year, plus 4 more second year (total 6) and the year after that the 4 bonuses also pay financial rewards, you will see we are near the top of pay if not the top.
People have been coming to Skywest when it had 7 year upgrades and everyone else had lower. It's a very good, very stable company with many bases.
Regardless of where you go, everyday you're flight instructing for 40k a year (I made more than that first year) you're slowing career progression.

Bit of a range though, between what you guys are saying a newhire could expect to make, and what someone who just finished their first year said that they made at ORD ($42k). $42k is sort of what I was expecting to see, and why I'm hesitant to go to Skywest when other locations are offering $60k and above. But he did say that was before training pay matched reserve and what not..
I'll figure it out. Thanks for the info!

That number may also include the 12 -200's that are going away, but are being replaced with -700's. So if we have 52, that makes 40 for the Delta side, and 12 for the American side.

Thanks to you and the others who posted for the details. I'm currently making a little over $43,000 a year instructing (before bonuses, closer to $47,000 after bonuses). Would be making over $50k if I took a promotion. Certainly not making an argument for staying instructing (hell no). Just comparing the wages.
