First year pay is now $36.50. The pay rates that we voted in last year allowed the company to increase first year pay to $36.50 without an additional vote. The company raised the pay to $36.50 the day that Reuboic declared bankruptcy.

Also, training pay is 65 hours a month until you complete your LOE (sim checkride). From that point on, guarantee is 75/76 hours. So while you are waiting for IOE, you will get 76 hours.

Thanks for the response. I very much appreciate the info us newbies can get from these forums. :)

Besides the additional cost, any pros/cons of getting single occupancy during training? Anything one can do to prep for crj ground school?

Hi all I was just looking in the SkyWest site on the link for payscale

Pilot » SkyWest Airlines

It says:

"Pilots in training will be guaranteed 65 hours per month, which will increase to 76 hours per month once Initial Operating Experience (IOE) begins. Pay for first year pilots is $30 per flight hour, regardless of the type of aircraft flown."

I had been seeing first year pay is $36.50. All the other pay numbers seem the same as posted here. Does anyone know what is going on? Old info? First year FO pay cut??

Edit ok then I found this

Pilot Payscale » SkyWest Airlines

Says $36.50

Go to the top of this page where is says Airline Profiles. Click Regional. Pay for everyone is in there as well.

Go double occupancy. Quizlet is great.

Just heard a rumor that EDV is scaling back 900 flying out of MSP to build up their east coast ops. Yet it is being replaced by GoJet, any insight? What happened to MSP being the junior base behind DTW? Are we losing lines in MSP and is movement coming to a stop?

Most of the shift from MSP/DTW to NYC has already happened. I don't know about MSP but GoJet and to a lesser extent ExpressJet (out of domicile) replaced a good deal of our 900 flying in DTW. I think in both MSP/DTW the lines of flying we had dropped 30-40%.

Thought I'd put this here as a new FO & sort of new to jumpseating. Wow, Southwest is absolutely great when it comes to getting home. They are very curious, professional, and willing to help. I'm impressed !

Also, my sim partner was just picked up by Southwest recently. Anyone else know what the attrition to Southwest is?

Few people here and there and a few from southwest have moved on from there. It's a good company but hear long reserve and unlikely upgrade with their relatively young pilot group. May be a good option tho since they aren't dependent on overseas flying (NAI issue etc). Need 1000 tpic tho.

Is long reserve at home that bad when it's 15/16 days off and 100-120k second year?

Personally I don't think so but that's not much more than what people make as captains at Skywest.
