Hope this doesn’t sound like complaining, just trying to stay as busy as possible.

Thanks

I need a long call reserve, never ever call button.

And 100’s more ASA pilots (that would have been happy to merge with skyw pilots) are off to skyw competitors (Envoy, PSA, etc...). The attrition in January will be massive to those places. I’m sure those airlines would like to thank chip personally.

Will be fun to watch Chip try to staff skyw over the next few years as attrition picks up. Might be wishing he had held on to the ASA folks. But hey, at least when the skyw pilots are flying max days on and min days off, sapa will be there looking out for you.

Well done chip :D

What are the chances of a new hire FO getting a DEN base? Which airplane would have the best shot at DEN? Thanks.

DEN is easy as an FO right now. You can check out Home » SkyWest Airlines careers and the seniority tab above the domicile map to see updated info. They keep it pretty current. As it stands, you’d probably get DEN before you’re done with IOE on either the CRJ or ERJ. The only problem is CA is pretty senior on either aircraft there, as you can see.

Exactly. I know the new guys are eager to fly. But i would kill to sit reserve at home and maybe fly 10-30 hrs a month. Your 24. You will have plenty of time to fly 80+ hrs a month.. enjoy the time off.

I would too. These kids need to understand that there's more to life than flying and building time. It's all about balance. One day he will no doubt be complaining about not getting enough time off!

That usually happens on Day 4 of one's first trip off IOE :D

interesting conversation happening on the Republic forum. "Endeavor or better" seems to be the clamoring mantra and I can't imagine a logical person accepting anything less. Highlights how INCREDIBLY stupid we were and how smart OO management was for pushing that TA through early. I know hindsight is 20-20, but man, that TA we passed is brutal, now we can't do anything but wait until OO has recruitment problems, which may never materialize due to all the base locations etc.

preaching to the choir here, man. I couldn't believe the BS spewing out of SAPA and managements mouths back in July. SAPA sold growth to an understaffed and overworked pilot group. Unprecedented. I was in a van with a SLC crew saying they couldn't wait for it to pass because they were promised all this 900 flying. See how that went. I flew with a SAPA guy who told me if we didn't take the 1% we wouldn't see another TA for years. The facebook group made everyone believe anything more than 1% would bankrupt us. That being said, most could see through the wool, but they just needed 51%. They won. We're now some of the lowest paid 121 pilots in America. Skywest went from the best to being the bottom feeders in less than 5 years. We're getting booted from jump seats.

I'll believe everything else you posted, but this is nonsense. 99.8% of pilots don't read APC and couldn't care less who voted for what. If you got booted from a jumpseat, I guarantee you it's not because you work at OO and the operating crew isn't happy with OO's pay vote.

Were you actually on there? If you read the facebook group at the time, you would have thought it would be voted down 95-1. There was 1 REALLY loud voice for it he has moved on.
