Both are awful...I know. Just in case I get off IOE and don't have something on the west coast to commute out of SLC. I bid ORD because I figured it was bigger...easier crash pads.
I'd do ORD, it's a delta base to united base. Chicago has a lot of options with a lot of carriers based there, furthermore the public transport is pretty good, so easy to get around especially from crashpads

ORD, more options with flights on SkyWest metal.

Delta hub to hub is pretty hard.

SLC was not an option? The website shows the junior FO as 9/19/16 - basically only 4 months behind DTW/ORD.

I have my bid in for SLC. I'm a 01/02 hire so just planning for the worst if I get off IOE early.

And thanks guys! Just wanted to make sure!

You will be back at SLC within 6 months. Everyone tells me to go where you will fly a line if you aren't based at home.

I may see you at ORD because that is where I am planning to initially bid.

I just got my SKW interview date for the 27th and they told me it will run from 8-2 in Denver. This was a surprise considering all the talk about 15 minute Skype interviews, other water-downed interviews, and that training was the new screening method. They gave me a long list of study areas to boot. Any recent gouge?

Thanks!

AviationInterviews.com. Spot on. Pretty relaxed interview process so don't let the 8-2 thing throw you off.

No watered-down interviews at SkyWest, Envoy or ExpressJet from my experience. ExpressJet still was using a SIM for some of their candidates. SkyWest focused on a timed CRM exercise. It was all documented in the gouge.

My recommendation: ignore the long list of study areas they provided. Study the gouge. Be able to draw an electrical system on your most complex aircraft and know 91.175 adequately to write it down. They aren't going to expect perfection, but an effort to prepare is a must.

If you want watered-down interviews, I can give you a list of those too. Mesa, Trans States... Airlines where you don't want to fly.

SKW is not screening for astronauts, but they want to get to know you a little bit which takes some time, and see if you have the motivation and work ethic to prepare. They even gave you comprehensive gouge (which you can further narrow down using internet gouge).

They kind of expect everybody to do mostly OK on the technical stuff, since you know all the questions. Really it's about getting to know you. You'll be fine unless you have poor interpersonal skills (in which case mesa will hire you in a heartbeat).

That's a pretty unfair and unprofessional comment to make here. Mesa has some really great people. Beat up on JO all you want, but attacking a pilot group... not cool.
