Yup. Halfway through systems I thought my head was going to explode. I didn't realize that the actual test was much easier than what the classes would lead one to believe.

In any event, everyone needs a break. Indoc and Systems are 3.5 weeks combined. I mean, Indoc is easy but Systems definitely requires concentrated study. I can't do that every day for 3 weeks with no break...

You can pay for any approved uniform items that you want to.

If you have previous 121 and are comfortable with progress, take weekends off. Otherwise stay in town and study, but take perhaps one day off on the weekend...go to a movie, ski, whatever. But if you're new to this you need to learn flows and profiles in addition to systems. The latter will stick better if learned and reviewed over a long period of time. If you memorize a profile an hour before SIM, you'll probably choke when the engine is on fire.

College did not prepare you for this pace, the only thing comparable are certain military schools. Don't view it through the paradigm you're used to.

Oh yeah, and the real exam will come on some dark stormy night about two years from now....a few days after CA IOE. Karma will provide you with a real slacker of a new hire in the right seat.

Sounds like the Rucker way of learnng. Friday night, Saturday, Sunday morning are yours. The rest of the time, you're in the books.

I have been through training five times at Skywest, and have spent one weekend not at home. If you are able to study during the week, and get the flows memorizied you will be fine. During the week I would go to class, then right after class go to the gym. I would then get dinner and study with guys on class. Going to the gym allowed me to decompress after being in class for eight hours. During sim I would go home if I had two or more days off. From my experience the guys who study nonstop for sustems end up behind for FTD and sim.

It's important to me and I'm a hack at normal job type stuff, so I buckle down when going through the school house. One trick pony. "What's the problem?"

Not all footprints are the same though. New hires can spend a 1/4 of the year in training while people already here can can knock a new type out in just over a month. If training is a month long, taking a full day off without studying isn't an option for me.
If you fail anything, you really don't want it to be the KV.

My roommate was gone on all the weekends and barely passed his systems validation. He was also on Tinder from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the weekdays. I am not suggesting that one should never venture out into the city, but be mindful of your progress in ground.... 121 busts do not look good for moving on.
