Cool. Thanks for the input! I like to instruct... good to know. If you don't live in a base where ground school is taught, will they put you up while you are teaching?

I'm wrapping up my IOE in Chicago, anyone know how long is the reserve wait ? How do I go about bidding in the PBS ? I should be done before the 7th of the month but my understanding is bids already happened for April.

1. If you have the minimums, they can usually get you into class the following month. You can ask for the first class date possible and they could possibly get you in a class in as little as 3 weeks.
2. You bid for your sims based on seniority in class. There is anywhere from sims starting the very next day to sometimes sims starting as late as a 4 weeks out. 3. This varies. I had 5 days from sim to IOE but that's not common. It is usually a couple weeks up to 6 weeks depending on the backlog. |

As you stated bidding for April has come to an end. They will build you a reserve schedule for April after you fully finish IOE. If you are done before the 7th of April, you will bid for May on PBS via the link on SWOL. Bidding starts on the 10th of April. If you are not fully completed by the 7th, you will have a May reserve schedule given to you by company. |
Hi.
I just got an email from Skywest recruiting saying they would assist with a visa, I'm not from the US. Just wondering if you guys like it? I have a bit of money saved up but would be taking a major pay cut from my current 210 job. is it viable to be able to establish oneself in any of the bases off the Skywest pay? |

You can get most bases with enough time, but it might take a few months. I haven't heard about another US regional that is better (or I wouldn't be here). Why are you considering the US, and where are you trying to be based? |
