I've been around 10 years, lineholder, and in 2016 my bonuses were just shy of 11k.

ORD had at one point more reserves than line holders, it came down a bit, but it is back up again.

Any reason why they had more reserves than line holders?

What's your guys policy on nighttime visuals? Qx's just got restricted to established on a IAP before accepting a visual at night

Nothing required (that I have seen) but many (most?) guys operate as if we did have a requirement, including me. If CAVU the full approach brief is typically waved and definitely not joined at the IAF.
Even during the day I think most guys load a proper approach in the box, I know I rarely see a visual built.

I always load up an approach with everyone I fly with. Definitely the norm around here.

Horizon also operates predominately in a region of the United States in which mountainous terrain is prevalent, yes? Perhaps it feels the need based off safety data that aircraft being established on an IAP before acceptance of a visual will mitigate the risks associated with visuals at night. It is actually a good idea in mountainous terrain to do so.... There are all kinds of visual and vestibular illusions which have caused accidents in aviation history.

Couldn't agree more in mountainous terrain. This policy is to be established on an approach, not just have one loaded, and unfortunately this is a blanket policy with no exceptions for major airports such as LAX, SEA, etc...

Thanks, but oh mah... a year reserve in ORD... did you want to be there or were you trying to get out the whole time? Trying to figure out how long it'd take me to crawl back to PDX.
