BOI is one of the four I heard. And, since it is a perennial rumor, it is the one I tend to not believe will happen. In this day of pilot shortages, I believe management will establish bases where they can obtain pilots, or at least that is what I would do.
Most rumors are driven by news articles, or changes in the industry by other carriers, which makes the rumors completely unreliable. For example, SAN was the rumored new west coast base.

I only heard BOI and that's been going on for awhile. Not sure how we would open ATL. I know they dumped a lot of CRJ's out there but do we have enough to really open up out there? SAN would be cool but I'm not 175, but that'd be good for the west coast guys. Really though the odds of all 4 of those are what? Just rumors...

BNA and BOI must have the same probability since they're both MX bases.

Its expensive to open a base, so we're not going to open bases just because we have lots of flights there. We got burned on ATL. Skywest use to be a airline of outstation bases, such as SMF, MRY, SBA, SAN, SBP, etc. The only ones that have stayed open are MX bases. So I have a hard time seeing anything like SAN or ATL. BOI does make sense with all the RON's and I believe quite a few of our guys already live there.

You clowns aren't getting a San Diego base.. why you ask? Because the shot callers want the bigger clowns (that we own and can't staff their own airplanes) to be doing the new 175 flying out of SAN. Shouldn't be regional flying as is and certainly will not be once qx drops the ball... again.
