They should contact pilot recruiting. They will review their background and discuss the process. Obviously, they have to come here under a US Visa.

I'm also from Australia and happy to help guide anyone through the process to get here, just PM me.

The pay is enough to support my wife and I, including multiple trips overseas and around USA. SkyWest has been great so far and I don't see that changing.
Out of curiosity, did Skywest recruit you and sponsor an E-3 Visa?

Yes they did, an E3 visa (Australian citizens only) costs SkyWest nothing whereas citizens of other countries I've heard is around $14,000 to sponsor hence why most US airlines say they will not sponsor anyone.

What are the rules around E3 visa? I assume it is employer specific and not transferable? Nice little forced retention model.

Not really forced retention as long as another airline will apply for a Visa or sponsor an employer based green card.

Out of more curiosity, did you reach out to them or are US regionals actively recruiting / advertising in Australia? Is Skywest a better opportunity than other jobs back home or did something other than a paycheck draw you over to the states?

SkyWest only assists Australians because of the ease of visa app

Default Trip efficiency

Met up with a buddy who's an FO out of DEN on the CRJ. He works four 4-day trips and usually runs between 88-100 hours a month. That only averages out to about 5.5 hours a day. Is this about average?

Yes that is the rough average. I don't think a higher efficiency average is very practical.
You can follow the average credit per day trend in the monthly RSR report.
Outstations will typically have a slightly higher credit per day but unfortunately they could also have the same TAFB on a 3 day as a hub has on a 4 day.
