Yes they often do...4 on 3 off is common.

Thank you so much for the replies. I have found myself in a situation where I need to either s$@t or get off the pot. I'm a 46 year old corporate pilot and I either stick with it or go get some 121 time and try to get on with a major in the next couple years. Again, thanks for the replies.

The sooner the better, 121 is all about seniority. I have this conversation a lot with fellow pilots and past students and use this analogy: it's like a garage sale, if you are on the fence about an item you sell it. Same with 121 if your thinking about it, do it.

Good luck, we're all counting on you.

The guy needs part 121 time quickly given his age, and I am taking it that none of the LCCs which are superior in QOL and compensation have called him thus far. Which other options should he pursue? ACMIs like Atlas or ABX that have hardly any QOL at all? Working for a regional for a while until he can catch the attention of a legacy/major is a smart choice. All of them will fall over themselves to gain a pilot of his background.

Thanks for the advice duesenflieger. I have not applied to any llc mainly due to the fact that there are none I really have a passion to work for. Allegiant? To be honest I like going on trips and staying away from home for a few days, might sound crazy to some but I enjoy it. Spirit?? Ehh, especially the way the current contract is written. My dream jobs would be Alaska or SWA.

Not to cap your knees but I'd be really disappointed if a (PIC?) X pilot goes to a regional.
91 and 135 guys go to the majors all the time, id hope what you need is a job fair and not oo.

That's another way I'm looking at it Westernskies. Yes I have quite a bit of pic x time. I think what got me on this 121 kick is that I had n interview prep person say I should go to a regional to obtain 121 time.

If you're a regional lifer (by design or accident), you need to accept certain realities. Most importantly that you do NOT have guaranteed six+ figure lifetime employment, seniority, and QOL. You can always get another regional job if you want it, but there are likely to be one or more "resets" along the way where you lose all pay, seniority, and QOL. That's the whole reason the regional system exists. Given that fact you need to have an alternate career plan or accept the regional biz the way it is.

I was annoyed that the dude came onto OUR thread to whine about about how "we" are mistreating him. If he kept it in the XJT thread he can whine about SKW all he wants and he won't be bothered.
You are correct in all your statements Rickair7777, except the end of your last post about me violating your forum. I was simply voicing my displeasure with Inc's handling of ASA/XJT. As for the new kids on the block, be smart. I only hope that there is not another event like 09/11, or the 08 meltdown that stalls your career. Good luck on your journey.
