ACMIs like Atlas or ABX that have hardly any QOL at all? Working for a regional for a while until he can catch the attention of a legacy/major is a smart choice. All of them will fall over themselves to gain a pilot of his background.

Thanks for the advice duesenflieger. I have not applied to any llc mainly due to the fact that there are none I really have a passion to work for. Allegiant? To be honest I like going on trips and staying away from home for a few days, might sound crazy to some but I enjoy it. Spirit?? Ehh, especially the way the current contract is written. My dream jobs would be Alaska or SWA.

Not to cap your knees but I'd be really disappointed if a (PIC?) X pilot goes to a regional.
91 and 135 guys go to the majors all the time, id hope what you need is a job fair and not oo.

That's another way I'm looking at it Westernskies. Yes I have quite a bit of pic x time. I think what got me on this 121 kick is that I had n interview prep person say I should go to a regional to obtain 121 time.

If you're a regional lifer (by design or accident), you need to accept certain realities. Most importantly that you do NOT have guaranteed six+ figure lifetime employment, seniority, and QOL. You can always get another regional job if you want it, but there are likely to be one or more "resets" along the way where you lose all pay, seniority, and QOL. That's the whole reason the regional system exists. Given that fact you need to have an alternate career plan or accept the regional biz the way it is.

I was annoyed that the dude came onto OUR thread to whine about about how "we" are mistreating him. If he kept it in the XJT thread he can whine about SKW all he wants and he won't be bothered.
You are correct in all your statements Rickair7777, except the end of your last post about me violating your forum. I was simply voicing my displeasure with Inc's handling of ASA/XJT. As for the new kids on the block, be smart. I only hope that there is not another event like 09/11, or the 08 meltdown that stalls your career. Good luck on your journey.

You're not violating it, but most folks are here to talk about SKW, as it pertains to the pilots. Not so much the broader Inc. issues which we don't have much to do with. Sorry if I was a little rough around the edges, probably lost some tolerance after QX and XJT pilots made comments to me years ago...this to a Cali dude who flew the Bro

LCC would probably snatch you up with no 121 time and those aren't bad QOL either.

Thanks. I just dont want what is happening to us to happen to others. You guys pay very close attention to the goings-on around you and don't take anything for granted. We are all expendable. Trust me.

Similar boat as you in regards to experience (almost all 135) Citation... I was recently told by a Virgin recruiter at a job fair that they wanted to see some 121 experience. According to him, they had a recently had a number of 135 folks come through and struggle mightily. He would not elaborate much other than to say the highly structured environment and procedures were a problem for these folks....
On the other hand, I keep hearing of 135 peeps moving up to other majors. Gets me wondering if these people moving up had prior 121 time at some point.
So, I can sympathize with your conundrum there... However you go, best of luck to ya!

Thanks petethedog. Nice to know I have company out there. So confused as to what the hell to do. I think what scares me the most is the possibility of the economy going to hell and having this hiring craze come to a halt, and now I have taken a huge pay cut to go to a regional and no one is hiring. I then could find myself retiring at a regional and that is not the goal
