Settle down, everyone. I made comment on the quote from @Blockplus because the quote was that age discrimination is illegal. My comment was simply reference that remark.

The FAA imposed an age cutoff of 32 years old by date of hire for Air Traffic Controllers. That, would be age discrimination. The only exception to this is if you're a military veteran eligible for the Phoenix 20 program which stipulates that you are eligible for FAA employment if you've completed 20 years of service in your respective branch of service.

It's why the FAA created the abysmal and now defunct CTO program. Shortage of Controllers who eventually had an 85+% washout rate.

Looks like the new goal is ~270 crews

I did receive this email yesterday which should shed a little light into the current goings-on:

The source is the main woman in Mecca:

"The ERJ classes will be small over the summer but the upgrade time will increase once I start sending pilots to class on the west coast.
You will see the CRJ classes reduce in size over the summer as well and the same thing, if I open up any domicile other than DTW the upgrade time will increase. But the majority of vacancies will be DTW for a few more months."

Anyone know who I need to send flowers to in order to see some e-jet movement on the west coast?

Delta, United and Alaska HDQ because they are the ones who decide where our planes fly.

I plan to apply soon, as I'm still waiting to get my medical and certificate updated with CFI from my MCI exam I just took. Therefore, I'm wondering if the website allows you to save progress and return later to finish it, like airlineapps.com does. It almost seemed like I had to submit right away, like it was all or nothing. I didn't want to risk clicking "submit profile" when I wasn't even ready to submit the whole thing yet. Does anyone who went through this process recently know? Don't want to look dumb by accidentally submitting something incomplete.

Being honest... I wouldnt waste my time asking people on here. Instead, sit down, give yourself a few hours to make sure everything is correct and in order and then submit it sooner than later.

You could throw American HDQ in there was well.

Point taken...

More specifically, last month's DVR showed 8 spots for ERJ FO in SFO, and they used just 1. This month there are none. Is projected vs. actual usually that far off?
