Yup, that's how it goes down and if you think going rote on checklists is healthy then go nuts, hotrod.

I'm just saying, that's how it'll happen. Hotrod

Lol. Nobody cares about shutdowns, I get it, that was a joke. I have absolutely found myself going more off memory with the electronic checklists because it's super small in the split screen or not up or whatever. I'm not Mr. SOP but that is no bueno.

I just want hard copy of the Before Landing check. And the Descent Check...so you can knock it out real quick when you realize you forgot to do it at 500'.

[QUOTE=uncleowen;2418427]Alright, how about a shutdown check?

Both EFBs off and in the bag.

Look at each other...[/QUOTEi

I did that twice last week on my four day. At least I remembered to "close out" the flights afterwards on Fliteview. I guess I'm making progress somewhere.

O.K., who would be the best person to speak with about keeping the paper checklist? I have noticed they are slowly disappearing in the aircraft. I appreciate all the effort to have the ability to review electronic releases, dmi's, and such on the EFB, but this is going too far. Seriously, how often do they need to print a new checklist; once a year? Yeah, let's go heads down into an often glitchy efb where you have to punch in a code to open it up, swipe to the right location, swipe to the right page on the checklist. By this time I would already have the paper checklist completed. Then have to get back to the page with... approach plate, taxi diagram, etc. Whoever thought this was a great idea obviously doesn't fly anymore.

I agree. Then there's the scenario where one efb fizzles out in flight and both pilots are down to one. That'll be exciting. I think I'll print one, laminate it, and keep it in my bag for backup.

"Stabilized, clear to land, descent check complete". Awesome! Lol!

Yeah, we got that. :)

There is just far too much heads-down time with the electronic checklists. It is just a bad idea all around. I think that a safety concern report is warranted.

Now we just need to get the AT&T signal to work better...
