1st year - mid 80s
2nd year - 120s
3rd year - 150s
That's living in a base, aiming at 110 TFP a month (16-18 days off on average). Numbers exclude 401k or profit sharing. Working extra gets increasingly harder and more competitive, so don't expect too much extra as a new hire until MAX is back.

New hires: Plan on guarantee. Don’t budget on what the average is, since that can change and isn’t codified anywhere in the CBA.

That being said, I’m still getting rerouted on at least half of my trips with move up. I had a 19.5 3day pay about 35tfp recently. Maybe I’ve just be lucky (or unlucky depending on your viewpoint). Personally, I like move-ups

Aiming at 110 TFP is what I wrote. I didn't always reach 110. There were months a couldn't make 100, there were months I got 130 with 2-3 "lucky" move-ups. A lot of ELITT trading, working weekends' more productive trips (more selection since most senior guys want weekdays). I rarely fly 3 days under 23 or 4 days under 30 TFP. I don't think I've ever flown a line i got awarded. It takes a lot of time on CWA. The key is patience. You can average 8 TFP per day if you want, even fairly junior. I admit it's becoming harder and harder. Boeing is to blame and I don't think we are anywhere close to the bottom of the problem. It will get worse before it gets better. If you're starting now prepare to fly your reserve line and stagnate in junior bases.

110 TFP and 15 days off can happen just from a reserve line without picking anything up. Still better to plan for min guarantee though.

Per diem goes into the bank account, where you choose how it’s spent, thus it is income. I personally spend mine on chicken quesadillas and beer the couple nights a month I get to the hotel before the bar closes. First year, the beers are usually free, so you can tip the van driver more than a buck on occasion.

The Boeing MAX grounding is not to blame. It’s exacerbating the manning situation that has been developing over the last couple of years. Before the MAX grounding occurred, manning numbers had been increasing for quite some time from the historical level of ~10.5:1 up to something like 12.5:1 or 13:1 now. What is driving the manning levels skyward was not triggered by the MAX. There’s lots of speculation as to why management decided to increase the manning but it was in play well before the MAX grounding.

Who’s ever in charge of manning needs to be $7!tcanned. Completely asinine.
