They've been converting 7s to 8s this year while waiting for certification, but I have not heard anything about what happens if the Max7 gets delayed indefinitely. I don't know if they want that many 8s

They could solve their W&B and performance issues in one fell swoop by canceling the Max 7 orders, putting a few rows of better seats in the Max 8, and selling them for a modest premium. You know, like AirTran did many years ago. Heck, make those seats assigned and leave coach the free-for-all that it has always been. Win-win for revenue, W&B, and luring back business travelers. They could do the reconfiguration at the same time they're putting the power outlets in.

That's how Spirit solves their w&b issues. Their "Big Front Seat" product. They didn't put that in there out of the kindness of their hearts. They solved a problem and made up for the lost revenue.

They could but I don't know if that'd be enough weight savings to make the range they were hoping they could make with the 7...but i've had the same idea. We'll all find out soon enough

Yup. Although if it means we can't do Denver-Hawaii in a 737, that won't break my heart. My ass is numb just thinking about that leg.

is it just me, or does every FO seat lean inboard. Does the left seat also lean inboard? Am I going to have to time my upgrade to even out my flattened butt cheek?

LAS-OGG is far enough...
I flew SAN-LIH, 5:50 time enroute, and landed with 18k FOB. We did the entire crossing on the center tank. eye opening...and eye watering at the same time

the left seat leans even more because of their huge wallet and extra 15lbs you automatically put on switching seats

Yup. I've done PHX-LIH a couple of times; that one definitely drags. Thank goodness I keep my "FOM" on my Kindle.
