Hiring 2022
2250 new pilots? So 3471 WARNs? This would put us around 12000 pilots at the end of 23.
We have 600+ Max orders out to 2031, but the mystery is how many are growth and how many are replacements. Will we really have 950-1000 planes by the end of next year? That seems….optimistic.

If you want a good, analytical, and balanced non rah rah view of the pilot hiring situation, take a listen to the latest SWAPA number podcast. Zard, I know you are a frequent listener, so that wasn't aimed at you.
New hires and prospective new hires, I suggest you all subscribe to that podcast and start listening. SWAPA excels in some areas and falls down in others. The area that they most excel at is using data driven analytics to make their point. The data, quite simply, does not lie. When you can present your case calmly using actual numbers, it makes you strong and your opponent weak.
Spoiler alert - about half of those max deliveries are growth, which is why they are cranking up the hiring machine. Eventually, they are going to run into an attrition and competition problem with other carriers, especially if AA and UA settle on terms sooner than later.

FUPM. That’s all I’ve got to say right now. I’m getting sick of this getting strung out and I’m gonna start challenging my reps on why we’re not filing for mediation.

Today's news related to United's TA has gotta be deflating to Carl's desires to string things along. Time to turn up the heat.
