Pilot attrition finally acknowledged…

That's interesting because when it came up at CQT a couple of years ago, we got a very wishy-washy word salad from a higher-up in Dallas on the day-one brief. That led to a good discussion in class afterwards and a consensus that we'd be the ones lawyering up in the off chance something went really wrong. That totally changed my perspective on the whole chair-pushing thing.

That's where I am as well. Add on the extra walkarounds I'm now doing (including a postflight on a plane swap in the middle of the day), and I'm loaded down enough with my actual job, thanks.

FOM mention or not, I think you'd have a real uphill battle in court trying to prove that pushing wheelchairs is part of your job as an airline pilot.

Never have and never will push a wheel chair. If a sr FA told me that I’d laugh and say I dont push wheel chairs. Had DAL ops agent say I can board early if I helped push chairs. I said I’ll board when my contract says I will. I’m a must ride and don’t push chairs. I’m done with the bs at this place and being treated like pilots suck. Jelly did great at tribalism.

My primary reason that I’ve never pushed a wheelchair is to uphold the respect for the profession but secondary is the liability aspect as well.

Don't @ me. They want us to look like a Dominos delivery driver so they can treat us like a Dominos delivery driver. Nope. Blazer.

another life; I was standing outside a South American hotel in uniform w/blazer on. A guest handed me their keys to bring the car around.

What’s that saying, Zap? If you want to be paid like a professional then dress and act like one.
