Truer words have never been spoken!

My buddy is about to make more than me (Heavy FO), barely getting used, eating first class meals, and visiting fancy places on the company’s dime. He does NOT have to sit by a computer 24/7 or get annoying alerts while at the dinner table having family time. He doesn’t worry about not being able to grab a meal because the hotel restaurant is going to be closed.

This BS about having to sit by a computer to make what others make flying their regular schedule is absurd. We’ve (somewhat) normalized this type of behavior and the company expects it now. This is part of the reason why they’re fighting so hard on this hill.

All forums are like this, read a car forum on any particular car and youll be left with the impression that the car in question is horrible due to all of the threads about a certain problem. When the reality is those are a TINY minority. No one starts a thread to say "Hey, im doing great, I love it here!". Most likely the active participants here are a very vocal minority in many cases.

Not to discount what is said here, there is lots of useful information and I take it into account when making my decisions. But I also realize the platform emphasizes negative remarks, and I dont know any of them personally. Its a good reserach tool, just realize what the limitations are. See you in Dallas.
while you are generally correct and normally that is the case via forums and the line but since the xmas meltdown it's way worse on the line then what's represented here. Sure the people you'll work with are good people but the operation is horrible. Enjoy the people but realize the work us going to suck

Did you guys hear about one of our ~20-yr CA's whose 27-year old son got hired at Delta last year, was awarded a 75/76 line for next month, and will be making more than his father?

I know, I know ... "There's a reason upgrades go junior at DL." "They have PBS." "Our flexibility is industry-leading." "Who'd want to live in a DL base?" "You'd have to pay me a lot more than to put up with flying for the double-breasted mafia." "No one has cooler pilots than we do."

Yep, I know all of that.

But dang.

At the end of all that, payroll will mess up your withholding and your take home will be light by about a grand or so because the quicken 98 software can’t seem to figure out month vice bi-monthly paycheck withholding. It’s awesome to make less take home on year 6 pay than I did in the navy as an o-4 because of payroll buffoonery.

Full disclosure: I fly just my line as much as possible, mostly because I just despise going to work here. So I got that going for me, too.

Im confused as hell and a bit disappointed, I also have an interview at American but I live in a SWA base.

Ive heard stories of FOs pulling 400k and CAs pulling 600-900k... so im not sure what the whining is all about?

Also im pretty clueless about 121
This is highly unrealistic. You will make 90-100 trips a month flying your line at 14 days average. Probably around 110 at 16. If you want to make 115k the first year, or 167 the second year like they tell you in the interview, you need to fly about 18 days per month every month. Check out the thread here about the company lies.
