OALs have far better life insurance, disability, profit sharing, pay, parental leave, etc. Hell, they even get more vacation than we do.

We need big improvements in ALL sections.

What are you willing to give up for that?

Oh wait , never mind You already pay for parking ,uniforms, do not get passes once sick time runs out when out on medical ect….

Yes, exactly.

To bring this thread back to the OP’s point, I hope everyone checks out the pilotpaycompare.com site, especially the “SWA Hypothetical” feature before filling out the pay portion of SWAPA’s polling so they can have a realistic idea of how far behind we are and how large the raise needs to be just to match the OAL’s and how even larger the raise needs to be to achieve a premium on the OAL’s given that, according to SWAPA’s FP2020, we fly 83% more departures, 63% more passengers, and 24% more block hours than Delta.

Nothing…. not a damn thing. It’s an industry norm at this point.

Why would anyone give anything up for that, especially in this pilot shortage market?

After listening to SWAPA number 23 and reconsidering after years since the last poll.

Long call/short call

Trip ownership

Non-contactable after reserve assignment

SWAPA Hotel committee

Long/short hotels

JA protection

Hotel in domicile for JA

Pos space home after JA

200% JA and out of footprint reassignment

1 for 1 Comp days for JA

Hot Meals

Training bidding

Trip drop based on a realistic and transparent algorithm

Continuous monthly open time, FCFS

100% retro

Retro established in advance for next-contract

Redeye protection, no legs before or after

Leg change override

Shoulder flying override

PS commute for IROPs

PS for commuter clause policy

Hotel rooms for commuters (this was a major attraction for new pilots at the regionals)

Parking

Uniforms

Per Diem increase

DAL 756 rates

That’s quite and impressive list. Personally, it’s free yo-yos, lollipops, and muffins or I’m striking!!!

I would take this list, put it on the table and tell the company to figure out how to make it work. NO CONCESSIONS!!!!
