Default Upcoming Polling

So apparently SWAPA is listening to what many on here have been asking for. New polling is starting soon to reflect changing DEMANDS, a changing climate, and the fact that thousands of pilots have been added to our rosters. Please take the time to go through the threads on this forum, TOF, the tome of visages, etc to be prepared for these polls.

There's also a website that provides a good perspective of how far behind our peers we are. Take a look to see just how far we need to increase our rates to match the career earning potential we are losing due to our INDUSTRY lagging compensation.

Everybody should check out this site before filling out any polling questions about pay. Especially useful is the "SWA Hypothetical" feature selection from the Airlines list that allows you to simulate a new SWA contract and how much of a raise we need to match or beat the OAL's.

Is staggering how much of a difference but I also urge everyone to remember not only pay, but improvements to QOL. Pay should exceed everyone else on the narrow body scale no doubt, but we can't sell the farm on QOL issues to get it.

and disability INCLUDING the retirement component that Delta and United offer.

Bad enough to go out on disability but to have to fund your own retirement from those disability payments is not okay.

and before you younger folks dismiss this as an old guy problem, think that it could just as easily happen to you snowboarding, or hanging Christmas lights, or diving into the pool.

Disability is important for ALL of us, and should be a red line issue.

why does everyone compare themselves to other companies? Ask for what you want! I wouldn't have voted yes for delta or the upcoming UA or AA. We are the most productive pilots in the world. Act like it. Demand what your worth.
Not directed at zap but everyone.

I couldnt agree more. But this pilot group has a long history of accepting far less. Spare me it's different this time SAV 99%.

In my career, I used disability twice, One was an accident where I shattered my knee. Had to have major surgery. Gald to have it.

I listened to the contract comparison podcast and while it was good info there was a few red flags.
the person doing the comparison work mentioned AA% raise and said it was a good deal. Um no, not even close.
also talked about narrow body to narrow body as what we are looking for. Again no!
I want people here to stop thinking of comparing us to any other airline. Delta is not a goal! They are not even the bottom of what I'd accept. This is a 10 yr contract. 3 yrs so far in negotiations, 4 yr contract, and another min 3 yrs to get another is 10yrs.
what do you want to work under for 10 yrs?
that's the mentality we need to have. Not QOL now and pay later. Everything now! There is no second chance. Stop under valuing yourself. The C suite does not.
