Potentially is the key word. All those overrides are their to make SWA run more efficient when it come scheduling execution(daily ops). One of the big take aways from the podcasts and roadshows so far is that skysolver doesn't know your original footprint. So when it decides to reroute it only sees whats currently on your board. Once they put that into skysolver I think the addiction of reroutes will slow down. If it does happen though, the soft pay will really hit them.
They have been horrible since covid with planning and execution. Trips are dense and since premium gets eaten with the rigs, now these over rides pay on top of that. Concepts are great but we'll see. I do expect significant investment in skysolver now and how it reassigns going forward. Slidding vacation I think is nice too. If ratifies I'll be definitely taking advantage of that.

The vacation slide may be something the company didn't realize what they agreed to. They protected the holiday itself...but not the days before after. Just slide that 6/23 VA week right 3 days days and you've got yourself a VA that ends 7/2. Smart bidding gets you July 4 off and you didn't have to bid weekends to get it. 'Merica!

Sitting here at the DAL roadshow. Was texting with an old friend who has been out on medical for a while, and will likely be out for the rest of his life. This is what he texted me..
"I am so proud of our union. I cannot believe how awesome this TA is when it comes to the medical benefit side. I also don’t have a Social Security offset penalty anymore so that’s instantly a $3614 a month raise once this passes. Currently Southwest penalize me that amount every month. It is deducted from my loss of license. I was so happy to see there was no longer an offset. We were the only airline in the industry that had a Social Security offset penalty. This TA has answered my prayers and then some.""

I agree completely with your friend.
At one of the union events in my town, one of our pilots who got injured and is out on disability talked about his experience on our current "system." I knew it was bad, but I had no idea just how bad. No major airline pilot should be going through what he is going through. He said the only communication he got from the company was to tell him his health insurance was being cut off, and telling him how to sign up for COBRA. Fortunately SWAPA covers that expense... but does it with our money.
This TA is a huge, huge win on disability and loss of license. I'm glad your friend's situation is going to improve if it passes. I hope I'll never need it, but it's a huge weight off my shoulders knowing it won't completely destroy my finances if I do.
