Roadshow Discussion

99% of those who are yes or no voters are not going to change their minds during the roadshows. Most of of the people that go to those are usually the fustrasted 50. Did you you notice how small the crowd was? Most people have made up their mind already. Again, this contract is not perfect. But most were there to let their grievances be heard. Good for them for letting the NC know how they feel. They pay dues too. In the end though this will pass.

The presentation part of the roadshow was a waste of time. There should be required reading for anyone who attends or watches these things. The Q and A is where it's at, but that was sadly a little lacking and they definitely didn't get to online questions as I know a few people who submitted them and didn't get answered. This is, however, the first one, so hopefully it will get better as time goes on. I plan on watching the q and a tonight.
The guy who asked the first question was a complete moron. He asked the same stupid question 4 times before being politely asked to sit down and then asked yet another question. Do we not pre screen these dolts? His question was essentially bragging about how much money he made last year and then insinuating that SWAPA was somehow ruining his good thing with LCO and other overrides. Nice job, idiot.
A few of the questions were good, but there were also technical issues that made hearing them tough. The medical freedoms guy had to get his shots in (again, pun intended), but I don't really feel like he made a valid point. He is the dog who caught the car at this point and it's getting old. SWAPA and he both agree that federal title trumps anything and everything else and that none of this has been tested and won't be until the next pandemic, which hopefully will not happen in our lifetimes. The disability questions were great, I thought.
I do agree the NC was overall maybe a little defensive, but this is their baby so I get it. I am glad people are asking tough questions and I hope they keep asking them. The clearer the air the better.

All the seats filled up and more chairs had to be brought in to accomodate the crowd.
Vast majority of people were happy. Even the ones who asked the tough questions were pleasant about and joked around with Jody and the NC.

However, the audio visual crew apparently has brand new equipment, is traveling every day with the roadshow, and is trying to learn the gear and upload from the road.
Might want to hedge your bets and plan on attending until they get the bugs worked out.

How do you think this company gets away with forcing you to work overtime on days off witch it is clearly a violation of Federal laws... its agreed to in a CBA under the RLA.
