Union hints of acquisition

It really helps to be on the negotiating comittee and make sure the integration gives you and your other FO union buddies an expedited upgrade while using other people's seniority as collateral. Of course jumping over the management fence immediately doesn't hurt either.

It’s Allegiant or Sun Country. Although based on how the Spirit merger attempt went, not sure how they’re going to explain this one to the DOJ either. Maybe if the other company is small enough like Sun Country it won’t make too much of a difference and SWA gets more 73s

They looked out for their small group and that’s it. Like you said then many of them went to work in the GO. Some are still on the SWApull gravy train doing minimal for this pilot group.

Sw needs 500 max 7 size planes not 50 more max 8s or old 800s
I dont think there is a way out of this hole. Just wait and hope the 7s get flying.

We’ll see if you’re still singing the same tune when Delta acquires Southwest for pennies on the dollar after they go bust like Blockbuster and you get stapled to the bottom of our seniority list. I bet you’ll be drinking that Delta Red Kool-Aid within a few weeks like a good boy!

Oh look, Another Southwest pilot who thinks he knows how to run a real air line.
Go shine your boots and do your Texas Two Step. Enjoy that 12 hour layover in Harlingen. I think the real Air Line pilots will do just fine without your help.
Oh btw, selling profit sharing for pay rates was already tried here close to a decade ago, and failed miserably resulting in a complete flush of the unon leadership. My profit sharing this year was ~$65,000. And I still make $447/hr.
We ratified an industry leading global scope agreement last year. RJs are being parked and replaced with Mainline equipment. We are darkening the sky with 717s, 320s, and 737s which I hear frequent your hubs quite a bit.
I actually wouldn't be surprised to see your company go after Allegiant. Experienced turnkey AB operation with MAX 8's on order that can be poached. That merger is going to be ugly. They won't fall on their swords for you like Airtran did. Enjoy the Flint and Allentown bases.

You do know that our scope is pretty much the best in the industry, right?

From: DOWNGRADE COMPLETE: Thanks Gary. Thanks SWAPA.
I’m far from SWA cheerleader but some of you guys lived in a fantasy world. Our management blows. But to think AT would have been a juggernaut is ridiculous. Oh and current SWApull is no different than that SLI. Which they failed to secure SWA pilots anything from the company like Delta did. CM is old 1.0 without a doubt and he has a good number that group think with him. You know they did a good job when everyone in the combined pilot group wasn’t happy with the results. SWApull sucked then and it does now.
When Midwest Express was on the ropes and we were looking at buying them, NONE of us thought to do to them what SWA/SWAPA did to us.
Realistically, AirTran would be in the JBA, NK, F9 group if it was still around today.
