I’m very sorry guys. I’m not proud of these moments, especially after the joy you likely experienced to have a CJO. UAL will be hiring quite a few soon—I’d say put in your apps when able. Again, apologies.

Nope, they only had CJO’s.
I have multiple emails and phone calls from SWA during 2024 and 2025 telling me that we are in the pool and will be allocated a class as soon as hiring resumes, so yes I was lied to by this company. But it's fine this is the new Southwest Airlines. The guy who called me today was obviously reading off a script. I knew what was up the second I heard his tone of voice on the phone. |

Then they told us that we wouldn't be hired in 2024 but once hiring would resume we would be the first to be hired. We received emails every quarter from SWA telling us to be patient and hiring would resume soon. We got called about 3 weeks ago telling us to schedule a logbook review and to expect a class date in November or December of this year. And now we are told that they aren't moving forward with our app. I didn't realize I was being re-interviewed for a job I had already accepted and even completed PRIA paperwork for 2 years ago. I have a feeling this was a last minute decision because the person that contacted me in August to tell me hiring was being resumed didn't say anything about this being something other than just completing paperwork and assigning us a class date.

If you watch this video that we poolies received you'll see the language they use is future new hires with a spot in line. |

Some of these guys had class dates and seniority numbers. Some were a week from starting and now being told, “you’re not competitive anymore, sorry” after being hired and then lied to for almost 2 years. It’s disgusting. I don’t care what the current market looks like…this isn’t the same company that kept the class starting the week after 9/11 because they told them they had jobs.

This just simply isn’t true. You don’t have a seniority number until day 1 in class and they post it. A CJO is just that, a CONDITIONAL job offer. Yes, it sucks, yes, it’s not cool. But as posted above, the language they use matters. They weren’t a week from starting because classes are a month or two out so that just isn’t true either.
I seriously hope you find yourself in the position you put people in. |

He was in the pool. Like from an application almost 2 years ago. Not someone who just applied in the last week.
Many of those pool people had official (non-conditional) offers, and 18 months of emails saying "you're still hired, we can't wait to bring you on, your offer is still good" only to be blindsighted with no real explanation. We were told many times since they stopped hiring that as long as you can still pass the background check and don't have any "incidents" our spots in a future class would be there. So they were in fact lied to. |

it’s called “conditional” for a reason. Curious what the rest of your app looked like.
They got 2400 applications in the first 8 hours and you got out bid. Sucks but no one lied to you. You should be disgusted with yourself. |
