I’d be pretty surprised if it isn’t AUS. They have said they want to grow AUS to 200+ flights, that doesn’t happen without a base.

With the STL cuts last month and plus from what I have heard there hasn’t been any base talk there the last year or so, I can’t see them being the next one. Maybe when they build the new terminal

Did I miss a communication? With the current Elliot slash, burn, and increase profits; I can’t fathom they are going to spend the money to open a new base.

If that’s the case then I’m going to LOL hard when the spring sqall lines shut down 3 bases. Won’t feel sorry at all after they displaced 500 people around for no good reason.

The network cuts they did really didn’t change the RON situation. STL has a lot of airplanes that terminate/originate everyday. These are the RON’s in each city with the current schedule without a crew base. It can be found on swalife.
  • STL 13-16
  • AUS 15-18
  • MCI 15-16
  • SAN 15-16
  • SMF 15-19
  • TPA 15-18
For some added discussion, ATL is only 11. ATL has a full mx base with a hanger. A lot of broke airplanes come to ATL because of parts inventory. Rumor is the lease is up in 2026.

If ATL closes, BNA is doomed as a base.

Why’s that? ATL is only a base because of AirTran. We wouldn’t have ever opened one there if not for the merger. BNA is cheaper and easier to operate out of. Could just was easily open a mx base in BNA.

Mx already exists in BNA. I wouldn’t be surprised in a few years they build a hangar there. Only took twenty years in BWI to build one. BWI averages 25-29 RON’s per night.

Should we expect an elaboration to this bold claim?

Yes, it does but not to the extent that exists in ATL. My point was they can just as easily move parts, etc to a hangar in BNA if ATL closes.
