even still if they do it does not show up anywhere except in my logbooks as an obvious training progression

you need to do whatever you can now to let them know. As said, if you wait til interview day your chances are slim.

Are you saying they didn’t ask if you had checkride failures outside of 10 years on the application? Interesting, I mean if they didn’t ask, I’m not sure where you would put it, but at the same time they’re going to find out one way or another if you got a letter of disapproval.

I don't like giving advice that is going to affect someone's life and well being, so disregard my previous advice. Just don't lie and be upfront about any failures. If there are any questions that you should have checked yes and didn't, that's probably going to be a red flag.

You will figure this out. If it is just an end of block or phase check that doesn't generate paperwork and is just something that had to be reflown in a separate event, I highly doubt it will be of concern. Most of us have had things like that at one point or another.

I would be prepared to talk about it, though, and if the conversation becomes tense, keep your composure.

good advice- just not sure how to handle, bring it up with recruiting before the interview or at logbook review as in, ‘while this wasn’t technically a failure I treat it as one … so I can learn from it…’

If memory serves, and granted it has been three years now, I think one of the very first things they ask you is if anything has changed. I would use that moment to explain the issue. I suppose you could always reach out to your contact in hiring and try to amend it there as well.

Default How senior is HOU?

Hi everyone, just wondering how long it would take a new hire to get HOU? I understand that DAL is very senior, but if HOU is a possibility then that would be something to aim for.

Also, I read there are rumors of an AUS base. Is there substance to that or just speculation mixed in with wishful thinking? It would be a surprise given the company shut down the FA base there not too long ago.

Strictly rumor. If AUS does happen I’d expect it to go rather senior and probably be small.

The evidence for another base to open is increasing. The recent SWAPA email addressed this topic and states:

For March 2026, the key candidates for a new domicile based on RON aircraft are AUS (18), MCI (16), SAN (16), SMF (15), TPA (15), SJC (14), and STL (13).

After consultation with the Company through the execs, it seems the Company is in the final stages of choosing between a few different stations for a new domicile. The resolution should be a matter of weeks and not months.
March seems to be a key timeframe. Again, what do I know?

SWAPA and Planning both indicated that it's 300 people sized....so that's bigger than BNA when it opened. Whether all 300 go to the new base or get spread around...who knows. Personally, I'd like it to be a popular location with lots of people living there to stop the displacement bleeding and get people back home (or wherever their original base is)
