Depends a lot on pay/qol. Right now the biggest determiner for that is being on reserve or not and even that will probably change a bit with reserve ELITT.

Working 12-13 days a month flying mainly domestic only making what we do is pretty tall cotton. I have scratched the 9-10 hour flight/time zone hopping itch. Not so sure I would subject myself to that again without a big reason to. It was fine when I was young, bounced back, and never got a hangover. Europe was fun when I took my family or had squadron friends to hang with. Not so sure I would care to do it 30 times a year for 24 hours at a time.

For me it would also depend on what domiciles that fleet would be in. I definitely wouldn't commute just for that.

I know one or two of them. The ones I know are very smart for it.

I’ll def be stalking some Sr FO boards to see what they’re up to next couple of months to see if it’d be worth it or not.

No, FO pay is 30% lower, so 0.7 of captain pay. So you have to work 1/0.7 = 43% more to make the same amount of money.
I'll give you an easy example. If you take a 50% pay cut you need to work twice as much, so 100% more, to make the same....

Yeah….

340 x 120 =40,800x1.2=48,960
48,960/238=205.71/1.2=171.425

For an 11 yr CA that flies 120/mo…they’d have to work 40% more to earn the same if downgrading. Not sure that’s feasible in the slow mos but could be wrong. 120 is easy all year long.

its not “work 40% more”… it’s “fly trips that pay 40% more”

trust me, thats not that hard. senior FOs been making captain money for years here. Time to start paying attention…
