Im sure this will change on the next contract but he’s right.

There have been several 1-2yr periods of seniority stagnation over the last 20 years but save for the MCO shrinking when LAS opened as a base, I can’t think of any other time that our company experienced anything even close to what we see today with multiple displacement bids.

SWA has been in a hiring growth phase for 50ish years so it stands to reason our contract is not mature in this area. I’m sure it will be a high priority item in negotiations.

Orlando is pretty nice this time of year
Orlando sucks starting around April. Nobody who lives in Denver on purpose is going to move, except maybe a few weirdos who can’t stand awesome weather and being outside without the sun trying to melt your face off.

It’s hard to believe, but OAK is forecasted to be way more senior than HOU. My have times changed. And not for the better.

The sweet spot moves around that’s for sure. Used to clearly be a west coast airline. The further west the better seniority/upgrade. It completely shifted to an east coast airline now. Texas wasn’t that great, now it’s going to enjoy a boost. Orlando used to be #2 worst for seniority/upgrade, now Denver took that position. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Nothing stays the same. Except ATL. That’s been terrible the whole time. Definitely weird to see BWI and OAK swap positions. One thing that doesn’t change is pilots lose their s#*+ when the sweet spot moves from them.

It’s not really that weird when SWA decided to hire half the seniority list of SkyPest.

How many of those guys do you think want BWI?

Yeah look at the vacancy projection on SWAlife. I have classmates from 2015 projected to be booted from DEN to LAS. Lots of projections for FOs to be booted from OAK to BWI. Obviously not final yet, but damn.

Have to double check but DEN looks to be 2nd most Sr behind ATL for CA and most Sr for FO.
