8500 TT
4000 121 turbine PIC
4 year Degree
Widebody international time (but no 737 type)
Been begging for an interview there for at least the past 5 years and really losing hope

I think there is a lot of us in that boat I have a little more time, been Int'l for 11 years now after regional captain and been updating regularly for about 3 years now. For a long time I was only applying to SWA as it would be the best quality of life, I truly believed in the great SWA corporate enviro, and I have a descent job now, but that attitude is over and applying to 5 airlines I could have a good career with.

I don't think flying experience has anything to do with getting an interview anymore. I've been to a few job fairs in the last year and SWA keeps telling me "everything looks good, and to keep updating."

The whole thing has become quite the joke IMO.

Pffft! Silly man. 11 years heavy jet international time does not necessarily qualify you to be a SWA pilot. Go get some time flying a single seat fighter in a non-multicrew, non-airline environment into non-high density airports and see how quickly you'll get picked up

All while traveling at speeds you have never operated at, and pulling G's that would have taking a nap. ****. This job isn't hard, took about 3 months to figure it out. Get over yourself.

Bahahaha. All of which relates directly to part 121 operations, right kernel? That "G pulling" is obviously something many of you can't let go of judging by how you taxi and throw the FAs and pax around just to name one example.

You'll excuse me if I don't think a guy with 2-3,000 hours in a single seat fighter should be getting hired ahead of the thousands of RJ Cptns out there with 10,000+ hours, most of which have been spent hauling paying passengers around in a multicrew environment to high density airports. Ya know.......basically already doing the job they're applying for.

Give me a break
