Is that the elite pilot unity chat that’s been going around?

I read conflicting issues for us here. On one hand, the tax break windfall says we should wait out this TA for one with improved rates, retro, DC and PS. Not to mention they are waiting on us for confirming (not negotiating) a new order. On the other, consolidation is a consideration.
Oh what to do, what to do...

Under PBS, with 4 days off, with no improvement in the required number of days off, this COULD happen. That's why the company wants it so badly, to improve crew utilization (IOW, you work more). Will the 4 days off apply between months? Will we retain the minimum of 1 calendar day in 7 free from duty IN BASE? Will the company have the flexibility to send me wherever they want for 4 days after I check in for a trip due to their definition of IROPs? What's efficient for me isn't necessarily efficient for the company, nor do they have any interest in building efficient schedules for us. They only have to build to the MINIMUMS set forth by the CBA. I will reserve judgment until I see the full language, I'm just pointing out some potential pitfalls. I like to work around my life, not live around my work.
I’m right there with you about reserving judgment until I read the TA, and agree with everything you said about PBS. However, I’ve had TX’s when I was a senior FO that dropped trips in the previous month leaving me with 13 days off for the bid month. So it can happen to senior pilots occasionally. I get it though why if you’re senior you might be hesitant to give up what you got going on. That said I’ve worker under PBS, and the guys senior enough to score the solid TXs every month will have a pleasant experience with PBS.

Bird in the hand....

Pride comes before the fall....

Pick your saying, they are both true. Leaving yourself open and vulnerable for a merger, codeshare, career ending illness, unspecified amount of time on ice with the NMB, downturn in the economy, terror attack, and the list goes on.

All realities that we might see

In the end, I think all this chatter is mainly moot anyways. Short of this TA being filled with horror, it will pass by 80%. Only question is what will the percentage be on the stickers for the "no voters" to place on their overnight bag. Im guessing "Im a 20%'er"

I for one will be very happy to put this crap behind us once and for all soon enough
