If you really believe pilots are naive for thinking this is a cost neutral offer, you may want to review recent comments made by the CFO (soon to be CEO) of Spirit Airlines. Keep in mind, the CFO has the ultimate situational awareness of a company's finances.
"Should the tentative agreement with our pilots be ratified, we will gain tools that will allow us to further improve our operational reliability and drive efficiencies, which gives us confidence that we will be able to maintain or grow our relative cost advantage,"
Pursuant to Securities Act of 1933 (SEC rules), section 4A, it would be illegal for an executive to make such misleading statements to the investment community.
Can we agree this is offer is trading QOL for an industry lagging pay rate?

by all means reach away... I mean with your 3000TT and 1 year of regional time United will be calling you any second... then you'll be off to the the 'big boys' making so much more than us and you can use all those proceeds to clean that floor to ceiling mirror you can smile at yourself in.... better yet , why do you even care what this contract pays in 8 years? you'll soon be in the 6 figures slumming it under these deplorable conditions just for a short time before you get a 'real job' ??

290- although we don't agree, I appreciate a coherent comment.

I believe we are trading some work QOL for industry lagging pay. However, I believe my QOL outside of work will be increased. We keep the red/green system which is our main tool for QOL, along with a lot more money to allow my wife to continue to stay home along with being able to provide my kids with certain things that I cannot provide them with currently.
If this thing does not pass, I will not begrudge anyone. I will keep hope that we receive a better offer.

If you don’t have a vote sit back and color while the rest of us decide. I think first year pay (all the pay rates as well) are too low and training pay is a joke but seriously you can’t vote.
To those that don’t care about being the laughing stock based on compensation how much do you care what the other groups think when we start to codeshare with Norwegian which had the largest call to action participation ever to prevent them even flying but we may very well help them proliferate.

Did you listen to Art Luby's discussion about scope in the video? It was pretty eye opening. While I would love tighter codesharing scope, it doesn't seem like that's a possibility. I am in no way condoning a codeshare with NAI. I am 100% totally opposed to that.

How much did last year’s meltdown cost? How about meltdown 2016? 2015? Are those costs being included? This TA will ensure meltdown 2018 doesn’t occur or is at least a blip compared to previous ones. Not saying I want my company to have more difficulty recovering but it’s a lot of power we are trading away for no inclusion in the company’s success.
