How about only printing the first 3 pages, and syncing the whole package to my iPad? No more waiting for paperwork sitting on a printer somewhere, search function for notams, easy updates. I did it with Fltplan.com in 2012, we are still printing over a million pages/year just for the releases.
As for the APU...do it when feasible. There’s a balance between customer service and a lean operation. LAS or DFW in the summertime would tilt towards crew and customer safety and comfort.
It’s not worth getting worked up over. Eventually someone in a cubicle will realize that no amount of auditing will convince airports to get their ac units up to snuff on leased gates, and that no amount of pressure/reports on crews will result in pilots and FA’s sitting patiently in 85+ degree cabins to save the company an extra dime that they won’t share with employees.
Do the right thing by each other and the customer, and when possible do the right thing for efficiency. Sometimes those two overlap, and sometimes they don’t.

It is absurd to suggest that we are sticking it to bendo-bob by keeping the air on.
Only management would think that way.
A management that does not even try to have a company wide recycling policy, has no sympathy for the environment, only their bonus.
We throw tons of release paper in the garbage, when a recycling bin at every station would cost $5!

Don't give them ideas, they are going to print the release on non-reusable plastic so they don't have to recycle...

There is no shortage of solutions
IF management cared...
SWA uses recyclable cans for water.
NK could sell H2O coupons and serve them in a paper cup.
Going paperless is just a matter of commitment.
My point is that the couple of management posters here,
who claim the environmental impact of APU usage, are just that, Co trolls.
Stock options on the other hand, speak volumes!
