I was under the impression that PBS was just going to be scheduling software. It won’t build pairings. Some person is still going to build the pairings to put into the system. With our new 24 layover credit be prepared to see some 15 hour 4 days. Currently our route structure does not have the efficiency to give us 5 to 6 hours of Block a day. There will not be many high-value lines. They will be taken by the top few and the rest of us will be built to a minimum credit sacrificing days off. I hope I’m wrong. Also we have in our contract the lien holders will not have reserve days. I don’t think that has changed. It will be interesting for sure.

There's some way they will hose us.
They ALWAYS do.

So true...
They did hose us with the TRO and we rewarded them with a grossly substandard TA.
Oh, we matched B6 rates for a couple of months, instead of waiting for their TA, and summer massacre.
Who signs a TA in MARCH, during "dead season"?
When they sued us, we ran scared, instead of counter suing for libel.
Enjoy this summer boys and girls, it will be the last time you get 3 weeks off using 7 days VACATION.
Not a cost neutral contract? Think again.
Check out the reports.

I have plenty vac hrs, which will be useless w PBS.
Three training events, plus 3 vac weeks per year fall in that same category.
6 months per year loss of paid trip drops, thanks to that LMS LOA and PBS.

The 1% was a personal calculation based on a random set of pilots and average training conflicts at the time of the LOA.
The 4% for pbs is based on a previous airline that had similar line bidding rules and we were told pbs was roughly a 4% staffing savings. Here it’s probably more because the previous airline didn’t have the same tradition language.
Shoot even without pbs we made a serious staffing concession. They are litterally able to cover everything now whereas before it was constant meltdown. Granted they could’ve staffed more before but they chose not to. The pbs kicker should’ve at least got us what Jetblue got and a 3 year contract. But hey, here we are and we have to lay in it- all of us. So no reason to be bitter for the next 5-10 years.

can’t wait until pbs, pretty sure the hamster running down in Miramar won’t make it.
