Probably more of the rust belt and the mid Atlantic. This company is infatuated with those areas.

It sure would be great to see some westward expansion in places like ABQ, TUS, PHX, SLC, BOI, etc...

 

3q earnings call said less new destinations announced next year than this.

As long as we keep flying the A320 series and don’t switch to that 737POS, yeah. You can prolly fit three snowboards up there.

I’m going to speculate based on current trends and uncle Teddy and Bendo..vrrr comments.

We’ll definitely see more domestic markets, but they’re going to be mid-large sized ones. No more Frontier/Allegiant game of flying into smaller markets with low frequencies. No more AVL/GSO type markets, except one or two here and there. They want markets where they can have multiple destinations from. A perfect example: AUS. We’ll see more of that. So expect something like SLC, ONT, RNO, OKC, ICT, DSM, MKE.

We’re definitely going to be pumping more flights into current markets. Hopefully the NEOs will bring more non-stop transcons. Maybe SEA/OAK-East coast. FLL, MCO. Also, I can easily see more MSY routes once that new terminal opens.

International? Not holding my breath. I think we could pump more flights into certain Caribbean routes. They seemed to be adding more CUN flights. Maybe they could do the same with PUJ. I think we’re flying to pretty much where we want to fly at this point. They have talked about Brazil in the past, but the economy over there is sluggish. Maybe down the road. I don’t know how much longer we’ll see GYE in our system. I don’t think it’s working out the way they wanted it. LIM, very seasonal. With NEOs we could offer MCO-LIM, maybe seasonally.

Canada might be coming in the near future. Maybe Calgary? Also there’s been talks about Alaska for a while, but Alaska Airlines have been very aggressive about competition in their turf. Including the West coast north-south routes.

 

I just flew with a guy who said they want to increase the number of daily departures out of LAS to 100+, supposedly from our current ~55. He didn’t know of any new destinations however. Another guy was allegedly told they are applying for international destinations out of Vegas too. He mentioned Mexico, Vancouver and Calgary as possibilities. The sources of these rumors were base chief pilots and training guys fwiw.

 

GYE isn’t going anywhere. Since we launched GYE at first it was slow (like most new markets) they got it so full they upgraded it to a A320. Since there is competition now the loads have dropped some and went back down to a 319, and there are slow seasons through the year. But if you look right now there is pretty good numbers (especially on the return flight) and starting next month they have upgraded it again to an A320. I think at the very worst they would go 2X or 3X weekly. Just like you said LIM has its fair shares of struggles too, but it’s still here. GYE is in for the long haul.

I could definitely see Canada or Mexico to LAS.
