Not digging at just you, but how is this always the default response to this job’s merits? Is “office drone” the only backup jobs professional pilots have to fall back on?!

Let me check and see what else I can fall back on that even pays a fraction of this gig....

Yup. Nothing.

Then say that. “I cannot fall back on any other job that pays me this well.” Not some vague comparison the job vs a boring job.

I did say that.....

Pilots are crybabies, are you shocked when someone says how “this isn’t the dream” or they aren’t “living the dream”.

Loving the paycheck and loving the job are 2 totally different things. If the office job comes with the same pay or a red Swingline, I'd have to consider.

Jesus H. There is NO OTHER job that pays this much, and you leave the job at the door. That’s the part that wins. Sure you could make more, but you have to live in the job. We get to leave the job at the parking checklist.

I love the job BECAUSE of the paycheck and the freedom it gives me. This isn’t elementary school and we all can’t be baseball players.

Let me know when you get an offer for an office job that pays $250k and 17 off a month....I assume you have a bachelors at best with no experience to back it you either.

But like I said....pilots are crybabies.

Money doesn’t bring happiness man. If you don’t like the job, find something you can enjoy doing. If it’s less money.

However... it did take you more than just your 5 years at Spirit and you weren’t a fresh Riddle grad when you started! Although you’re right about the days off, can’t beat that. Not sure about pay because I don’t know a thing about other industries, especially for equal longevity to whatever pilots have since their bachelors, and or flight training.
