Irony are those complaining about the noise and still use the ship headset. If it’s loud, buy an anr headset. If it’s still loud, climb at a slower speed.
It really isn’t that difficult. I just don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to invest in hearing protection by buying their own headset. Best part is you can leave the ship on unplugged and watch people lose their mind on these forums

Never had an issue with the ships headset, rarely miss a call from ATC. 727 did my hearing in a long time ago. When Bose comes out with a wireless headset, I’m in!
love the guys that leave the headset wrapped up and unplugged. Learned my lesson early, so it’s part of my flow.

The Airbus definitely isn’t as quiet as some people make it out to be. Ship headsets suck, and topless sucks. I never take my ANR headsets off, and will just pull them off one ear. I love when guys give approach briefings with no headsets, while they have their head turned opposite of me, while they stare at their iPads. “Questions?” No dude, I didn’t hear a word you said. Can you repeat that while looking at me so I can hear you?
and I don’t hear anybody “yelling”
I think the “anti-topless” people here are really starting to embellish their stories

There are plenty of Clarity aloft style headsets that do the job and aren’t clamps on the head. I know what I’d choose given the choice between wearing them until the noise level is down or spending last two decades of my life deaf.

Speaking of embellishing. Why did you quote my post and then put “yelling” in quotations, as if if I said that? The purpose of quotations marks is to quote what a person said. I didn’t say anything about yelling.
If ANR headsets are clamping your head, you’re wearing the wrong ones.

Best noise cancelling headset that doesn’t take up any space to carry, doesn’t hurt the inside of my ears bc I have to wear buds or molds, and doesn’t clamp the top of my head with a headband for six hours.
And go…
And go…

Telex 850…done. Anything else is too expensive, too bulky or too obtrusive.
