Want to have fun ? Try MIA, and getting a cab driver who doesn't speak a word of English, and you "comprende no mucho espanol." At least I didn't catch anything from using cabbies cell phone to talk with cab company dispatcher where I wanted to go, and then he told cab driver directions on how to get to where I needed to go. It took me 3 pay periods to get reimbursed for this non- standard goat rope flight assignment, but that's another story....

Curious why it took pay periods to get reimbursed, since I’ve always used Concur and the reimbursement is deposited into my bank without having to deal with paychecks and pay periods

Reimbursement used to be hell when it was a payroll/paycheck thing but Concur has been fantastic for me, days instead of weeks for reimbursement

Sometimes the problem is there are no hotels, as in literally everything is sold out. Or it's too early in the day and they won't let you check in yet.

Sounds like y'all need to consider implementing a Company Credit Card and Expense Reporting system like we have at FedEx.

Back on topic, we have 24 CA vacancies, United has over 400, which will apparently put some very junior people in the right seat of a wide body….

Pretty sure United doesn’t do monthly vacancy bids like we do but still a big number.

UAL’s vacancy bids are every 4-6 weeks.
prepandemic we had a steady flow of vacancies every 4 weeks, we are now back to the same average time, numbers vary as unfilled vacancies go to new hires. With 200 a month as we are now I expect a vacancy bid every 4 weeks, maybe not as big as this one but the frequency will be steady.
Until we furlough, then displace then rehire then vacancies again…. Life goes on…..

Well United lost money in newest earnings report after saying they would be first to profitability- let’s see what spirit says next week.

Can we take some of your pay so the rest can have a livable wage?
