Nah man, nothing moot about this. Company will, I mean Bendo, will surely use his management pie analogy to try and tell us any increases on the FO year 1 and 2 will be costed against the total pie. That’s management 101, present the contract value as a pizza pie and that pie gets sliced up for the entire contract.

Heck with that.

I said it’s something that needs to be fixed, and that the Union has a moral AND LEGAL responsibility to negotiate for first year pilots as well as all the other pilots. Which of those things do you disagree with?

And while you are answering, do you go along with the poster who said that first year pilots were not “on property”?

Because it seems like we have a substantial number of them in the right seat…

Year 1 at Hawaiian is $36. Imagine being an FO in an A330 making that....at least were not the worst.

I budgeted for $40/hour (AA’s new-hire pay pre-jcba). Going from that budget to 38.50 wasn’t too much of a stretch. Is it a shame, absolutely! Did many do it to further their career progression betting that it’d pay off, again absolutely! If our union uses negotiating capital for new-hires, I’d be very upset and want a change in negotiators at the least….

2022 gonna be fun. Grab the popcorn. Town hall in a week can’t wait for the leadership team to shed some color.

f9 is where spirit was 5 years ago with their new growth and has more opportunity for a low paying a320 operator. Add the fact ual is hiring every nk pilot who applies (also with 18 month upgrades at ual ewr/sfo) Staffing is going to be an issue

2022 gonna be a crap show

Does anyone ever see it getting to the point of hiring at just the minimums on the Spirit website? Basically a guy straight out of being a CFI with 1500?
