Or you could buy a Delta ticket. They won't cancel the flight. They'll just delay it for 15+ hours, fly it empty back and forth, even though no one got anywhere, solely so they can say they completed the flight for the DoT.

It isn't cancelled if the flight happened, even though no one was onboard, right? DoT logic.

From what I hear, it happens regularly. Take a CJO and start, as soon as they get an offer with the one of the big six they really want (domicile, etc.) they are gone.

As it should be. I’m this market you say yes to everyone as always but the second something better comes along take it. There is no loyalty nor should there be. It’s just business. Spirit would fire someone if needed without thinking twice and pilots shouldn’t feel bad about taking a job and quitting for a better offer even if it’s day one.

I disagree.

Well, actually, I agree completely. NK and JB management doesn't want to COMPETE for pilot talent, they can watch them leave to other airlines. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I have to wonder if this isn’t the plan. Beat both companies down to barely enough pilots to keep going as a ploy to allow the merger, the feds fearing BOTH will go out of business if they don’t allow it.

I’m curious why the feds would give 2 s#%ts is either of our airlines go out of business.

In that situation it’s not so much that they care if we go out of business. More so that if both companies are trying to merge to survive the fed would have a difficult time justifying blocking the merger.
