i was checking I to the hotel on my overnight. It was myself and 5 other NK pilots. The guest in front of us made small talk with one of the other pilots. When asked who we work for, the guy said Spirit and without hesitation, she made a “oh God” sucking sound through her teeth loud enough for all of us to hear it.

I work for Mesa. I don’t care what people think but the stigma is real and it gets tiring. Same for Spirit. I’d love to put 88 seats in the crj and paint them yellow and give spirit some regional feed. And I know that’s not a real thing in any universe.

I think most of us get tired with the inevitable “ugh” that comes from the mention of our airline. And I don’t blame people for their visceral reaction to the name Spirit Airlines; this product has been trash for 90% of the last 15 years. And it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that most of us are ready to turn the page on the ol black and yellow and one finger solute the morons that are “in command” of this airline

Ive been at Spirit for a year. I know the stigma. But who gives a ****. If the opinion of literal strangers matters that much to you there are bigger issues at play.

I would imagine it gets more frustrating over time, not less. And it's not just strangers, but family, friends and peers. If they are feeling something, maybe they have reason to want better.
