Commuter or local and which fleet? Have you been able to outright drop anything?

Right now commuter to IAH on 737. Can't really drop reserve (same as NK) although you can move days around based on the grid. Only had to commute few days for short call conversions. Spent about 2/3 of LCR at home by evaluating the reserve availability, short call builds, open time, and then picking up the right short call conversions (all reserves start as Long Call)
Will be local/based at home in Feb/March and actually thinking of continuing to bid reserve... Possibly holding a line in January (I could've had a line in Dec but wanted Christmas Eve/Day off).
Been at UA since September...

Possibly. If I can hold it at my home base then yes. I mean 2nd year CA on 737 is $330. Even if I'm on reserve, I'm ok with that. The rules are actually going to be really good once everything is implemented by August.
And yes, they are offering 737 and 320 CA slots to qualified pilots in indoc. You still have to complete 500 hours at UA before going to upgrade training but you get paid CA pay at 350 hours.

How many 320 captains in each base? Which domiciles have 320s? All but Mco?

320 bases are DEN, DCA, EWR, IAH, LAX, ORD, SFO.
LAX is the smallest, ORD the largest. There are between 50 and 250 Airbus captains per base

737 is definitely workhorse (and we have 400+ on order) but 321s are starting to come in which will grow the bus fleet (and XLR will replace 757 at some point).

DEN 370

And you're right about the busiest seat (on 737 anyway)
IAH 670

Most pilots in a single seat is SFO 777 FO - just shy of 800
