If they need less reserves they could let reserves drop days (with restrictions, outside only, minimum block 4, only if grid is blue, with blue being green plus a number to protect the lineholders aso). If they need more reserves, they already have the option of putting reserve days in open time, (and they can (should be able to) offer them at premium). Definitely no need to Jack around after final schedule is published. And if it is that rare, the company should give it up without it costing us anything.
Just leave it in the employee lot, I’ll take the Miata next time I’m in town

It’s the pink one at the bottom, but I park in the DL employee lot.

I guess, but I’ve taken more premium on rsv than as a line holder. Much easier to take that short notice cheddar when you’ve been sitting at home on rsv than when you just got home from a four day as a line holder

While there is some risk of not exceeding your awarded line value, dropping your entire Summer schedule and waiting for the phone to ring for X/Y can be quite lucrative.

Sure, but don't forget we're talking about summer flying. Not sure which base you're in, but in FLL there isn't much sitting at home for reserves during the summer months. Factor in Miami this year and it will be very interesting.

WB FO normally goes senior to NB CA. However, a lot of countries essentially lock up flight crews in their hotel rooms for their entire time off. You can only leave the room if you smoke; I've been told that a lot of WB crews have taken up smoking.
Imagine going to Sydney and being locked in your hotel room for 40 hours with a guard outside of it. And your meals left at the door.

Once everything goes back to normal, you won't see WB FO going junior. And while some talk about how bad WB reserve is, I spent a decent amount of time on WB reserve as a commuter. It wasn't bad. I'd still be doing it if it paid as much as NB CA.

Haha. That’s because Grumpy Captain never leaves his room anyways.
