The hat and wide body descriptor was not literal.

To you your 3 points above, Is spirit hiring yes but not enough to fill out its order book and consequently that will stop the upgrades. Only 10 in march per flica
The only true statement here is 10 march upgrades

FO's are looking at sticking here and gambling their couple years of seniority VS something that looks more stable going forward, also less meltdowns and some other fringe things. As well keep in mind that the QOL here is based solely on new hires coming in. If that stops which it essentially has then there goes the QOL.

Before someone says that we have hired x amount of FO's, well of course it means that they stay and not leave in a month or a year otherwise they are just invalid in terms of the growth etc of NK.
Nothing you said here makes enough sense to respond to.

10 CA vacancies has everyone spooked, which is understandable. It doesn't hurt to put out some apps and see what's out there. We have some senior captains bailing. We should have a better idea this summer if management wants to let this thing tank or they address the staffing issues.

hehe the hat is joke thats for sure but certainly some people leave for a widebody slot. I personally think thats silly but to each his own and frankly those people were never going to stay in the first place and therefore arnt relative to this conversation. Who does matter are the ones who wanted to stay here but the advantages of working for NK are being eroded.
If we dont have anyone coming in then your time on reserve in either seat for however long might be for who knows long, the seniroity list goes stagnant and any contractual nicety relative to QOL is unatainable. Not to mention the company not being able to staff its growth and projected operation which simply just doesnt bring the $$.

I mean what doesnt make sense here ?

Frankly regardless if you understand it or not is irrelevant as this is the problem at the moment at NK. From my impression the same captains who say have 5 years plus here dont see this ship as sinking because in reality they can as you said leave and move on if it does go tits up. What junior seniority people are now looking at is not to get beaten to the curb by their own senior coworkers if that were too happnen.

With a 100million lost in the summer, shoddy IT and seemingly no guidance from mgmt in addressing any of it or frankly seeing any actual positive change yeah. I dont blame someone for leaving or myslef frankly for updating my apps.

We are a publicly traded company, management answers to the board and shareholders. They don’t get to decide if this thing “tanks”.

Ted, Bendo and the lot are always a few bad quarters away from updating their resumes themselves. The moment we start parking aircraft they will be the first ones to answer for lack of planning.

Despite all the hyperbole, we are still low single digit attrition. We are still on track to have more pilots at the end of this year than we did at the start. I’ve said it before, if we hit 10% attrition and empty classes with no viable plan from the C-suite, I’ll be the first one to join in with criticism (especially as a shareholder)…. but until then acting like we are currently in some sort of ‘crisis mode’ is disingenuous.

honest question where are you getting the info that we are in single digit attrition? also heard recently that were parking 319's coming up.
if youve got a good source ask them about it that so we can confirm!

Ask your ALPA reps and membership committee chair to publish the attrition and hiring numbers monthly. They know the reality. Other ALPA carriers do this.

if we are only loosing low single digits I will be shocked. We lost double digits in December alone. And about half the F/Os I’ve flown with this month have interviews or been hired elsewhere.
I’m guessing we’ll loose 50 in January, which is still growth, but a big problem.

10 percent of a 2800 pilot group is 280.

The number for January will be a surprise for a lot of folks when it’s published.
